Anthony J Barber

From the potteries he may be – but Barber sure loves the Scottish Highlands & Islands!  His background in architecture and design shines through in his lovely renditions of stunning Scottish landscapes – with his choice of limited palette only increasing the atmospheric impact.

I found some of his work in a small gallery in Mallaig and was instantly drawn into each piece – and have been looking through his portfolio at length, unable to pick my favourite work.  If pushed I would probably have to settle for the simpler images such as Seilebost or Timsgarry – but it was Over the Sea to Skye (pictured above) that originally caught my attention and it is definitely still one of his best.
