There is a great Swedish saying (appropriated by Billy Connolly) “There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing”. The sad thing is that a lot of appropriate clothing (especially wet weather gear) is just so darn ugly! For this reason I have so far resisted parting with any of my hard earned cash on a raincoat; a garmet that my wardrobe would undoubtedly be enhanced by – especially considering my aversion for umbrellas. But maybe just maybe this is about to change thanks to coolhunting who recenty highlighted the dedicated work of Alexander Stutterheim. Promoted under the moniker “Swedish Melancholy at its Driest” it is extremely hard to find fault with these hand-made and superstylish classic raincoats and at 3400 SEK, while not cheap, they are certainly affordable enough for them to rocket onto my wardrobe wish list! Now the only question is… what colour?
